I'm really excited about the idea and merits of paid dat hosting, so I want to get the discussion started. Feel free to add stuff and edit as you like.

Scope

Dat hosting is basically a service that acts as a peer for every dat you pay for. Is that right?

Benefits

• you don't need to worry about peers and timezones
• you can publish link to your stuff at dat.haus/, you can even host your private website there
• caching in dat.haus will become less of a feature

The advantage of dat hosting just being a peer in the dat network is that we don't monopolize on anything. Everyone capable can do the same, if they desire to.
