I'll give some general advice... sometimes when you want to do something, it's better to look at a tool like this one and work your problem around what it provides...

My first thought would be that this could be an optional plugin? I like how simple Poxa is. Just pull and fire it up, and it works great. But this...

Another option, just to consider, is to default to the one database connection in the config file _IF_ there is one database connection in the file.

And of course... I wonder if the same thing could be done with setting a database.
