new tab tools not working since FF update - Please help!

I am receiving this every time I try to open a new tab:

New Tab Tools couldn't start properly. Try these:

If cookies are disabled, add an exception for moz-extension://cdf9bf53-07d3-4745-bd41-032d8e670f4c/.
Go to about:config and check dom.indexedDB.enabled is set to true.

You will need to restart New Tab Tools (or just restart Firefox) for these changes to have an effect. New Tab Tools cannot start if Firefox is set to "never remember history" or "always open in private browsing mode".

I have followed the directions to no avail

There's no good way back from here, that I know of. It means Firefox has royally screwed something up. The best I information can offer is this article about starting a new profile and say tell you that your extension data is in browser-extension-data and/or storage/default/moz-extension+++[something].

I’m sorry, I don’t know what to do with that. I know how to start a new profile, but the other part I am lost.
