Input field for entering tags (Ctrl-T) is way too small
The respective input field is hardly useable - see screenshot below.
I cannot see any reason why that input field should be that small/narrow. I should be a lot larger. It makes everything more difficult. The size and position seems to be hard-coded.
See my post here on pixls.us.
Solution 1. Let the user decide whgere and how large it appears (make it scalable via CSS) Solution 2. Make it bigger/wider by default.
Using Ctrl-T for adding single or multiple tags is a short everyone coming from Adobe Lightroom knows and uses. It is fine that it exists on DT as well. But it is not implemented as it should.

I myself have never used Ctrl-T for tagging, and your request for change is certainly justified, but I would like to describe my method of tagging to you; perhaps it will be a better solution for you as well.
I select the images to be tagged in the lighttable. Then I enter the desired tag in the input field of the tagging module (the input field in your screenshot, directly above “1. april (11)”). It is sufficient to enter the first few letters of the tag until the complete tag is displayed in the dictionary section. Double-clicking on the tag in the dictionary section then applies the tag to the selected images. I always create new tags in the dictionary section before using them for the first time. For me, this is the fastest way to tag.
Thanks, but I knew this before. I have been unsing both DT and LR for many years. Partly side by side.
But as I am not a Mäuseschubser, still I prefer Ctrl.T - which BTW also makes use of tag-completion...
