Verify flatpak package / provide official package
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
In Flathub, Darktable is listed as unverified. Some linux distros actively discourage you from installing such unverified packages (see below the Linux Mint software manager). This is bad for discoverability and user trust.
Describe the solution you'd like
Since this issue mentioned that the current package isn't official, I'd like to suggest creating and publishing an official build. Since there's already a community package, copying that workflow and creating an official release should be doable.

Thanks for volunteering to become maintainer of the official flatpak release! :)
More seriously, to have official releases for anything other than plain Linux executables, the project needs someone who commits to ensuring that the builds work and are created at the appropriate times and will follow up on bug reports for that variant. If nobody had stepped up when the previous Mac maintainer decided to step down a few years ago, there wouldn't currently be a MacOS release....

I will close this issue. To declare a flatpak release official, and therefore supported by darktable developers, it is necessary to have a person who is well versed in both the peculiarities of flatpak and the functioning of darktable and can solve problems when they arise. Flatpak, unlike appimage, is a sandboxed container and this creates many problems, complications and limitations. For example, as far as I know, OpenCL in flatpaked darktable still works only with NVidia drivers.
