[Suggestion] Persistent notification
One feature I miss from Geometric Weather is the persistent notification. This will show the basic weather information including temperature, which also displays a status bar icon.
Hello, I will take your request into account in the next update.
Thank you!
Would it be possible to make it persistent, i.e. only one notification that updates with current information?
At the moment, old notifications accumulate, so if the refresh interval is set to 1 hour, you'll get 24 notifications per day, which is a bit much.
If other users like it better this way, perhaps there could be a switch to toggle the two behaviors?
I want to clarify, do you want one notification where the information changes over time?
That's the idea. I guess "Persistent" is not, strictly speaking, an Android term, although that word is often used nonetheless.
Though I'm not 100% sure, the correct denomination might be Ongoing Notifications and they are exposed to the user as Silent Notifications.
PS: while it's cool to have a log of past values (and I do check that information from time to time), the main point is that for most users the current conditions are prioritized over past values.
"Nothing like the present", right ? ^^

I'm trying to start using this app but the main feature I want is exactly as you described it with Ongoing Notifications. I still don't see it here unfortunately in 9/2023. Can we expect this to be implemented? It seems to be a standard for many weather apps & a widely used feature, and a feature I've used myself regularly.
This will be implemented, but a little later. At the moment I'm focused on improving the code, fixing bugs and creating a widget.
Personally I don't use widgets. Priority for me is persistent notification (info changes over time).
