DJV 2.0 Feature request: Add option to automatically sync audio
For "Dailies Work" and others it would be handy to have an automatic "sync audio" option.
Use case:
- you have 2 (or more) camera clips with audio
- you have 2 (or more) camera clips with "scratch audio" (poor onboard mic) plus an audio "master" track (boom mic from the audio guy, mix-down from audio console, ...)
To align the clips a waveform analysis compares audio and syncs the tracks based on similar waveform footprints. You define one audio track as "master" ("set audio reference") and tell the software to "align audio to master". Thus you can i.e. easily sync a multi camera shoot.
Probably best known is Plural Eyes, but there are other tools like kdenlive which feature this. The latter is an open source project. So I assume the code is available.
And finally: This may be something for a "DJV Pro" release.
Good suggestion, and yes, this is likely more of a "pro" feature; I created a new label to tag these.
