Another to add to README:

/etc/ssh/sshd.conf 
GatewayPorts clientspecified

"By default, OpenSSH only allows connecting to remote forwarded ports from the server host" https://www.ssh.com/academy/ssh/tunneling-example#remote-forwarding

I am guessing the/my/debian default install of sshd changed in the last 5 years. now this is needed for sidedoor to work as expected.
