Is it Possible to have product level Custom Dimension?

I am setting custom dimension for a product but they are only sent over on a trackView call. I never see them set in GA. Anyone else faced this problem before? I am trying to set Vendor at a product level. No issues with session level Dimension they are coming through just fine.
