No Access to Comms Panel
I've got every panel working, with the exception of the comms panel. Although I can focus it and type a message (not really, using Oculus Touch...), I can't get to any of the other tabs. Incoming messages regarding missions are inaccessible using UI left/right and UI next tab. How are people dealing with this?
When grabbing the joystick UI next/prev tab bindings work for me when I bind them. Though I will admit the Oculus Touch controllers lack enough inputs to comfortably bind UI next/prev tab.
So it's just me? That's actually good news. I'll figure it out, thanks.
And, yes, I only bind UI next tab, I skipped previous tab. :-(
I have the same issue with index controllers. But I found by pressing the 1 button to switch to the left panel, then 2 to access the comms panel, I then can switch tabs with the controllers. Have to hit the ESC key to back out of it tho. Not sure why

I presume that when you switch to the chat panel by 1 instead of just by looking at it the chat input gets keyboard focus because ED assumes you are trying to type a message. So keyboard bindings are ignored so you can type a message. And you have to use ESC to leave the message writing textbox.
I read in a forum post somewhere that there is option in these settings, under mode I think it was, to focus on the text bar when it’s available. So I disabled this option. Now when I look at the comms panel, it opens, but there is no cursor for text input. But the change tab bindings don’t seem to work. Until, I press “1” on the keyboard, then while still looking at the comms, the left panel will open, closing the comms, then pushing “2” will bring back the comms and at point, the change tab bind will work.
I don’t think this is a problem with elite vr, because the forum I was reading was about a bug in elite dangerous itself.
I did get the working by binding the comms panel to a button (combination). I didn't need to bind the external, internal, or role panels. You do need to ESC out of it when you manual open it, but that's also easily done with the UI back button or toggle it closed with the same button you opened it with.
I was going to dedicate the 4-way thumbstick (with a modifier) to these panels, but since it's just the comms panel that is special, I think I'll just program that one.
Thanks for the comments, everyone.
