URL grouping and html tree output

Open pinkzomo opened this issue 8 years ago • 4 comments

I just wrote a little shell script that groups my scrapbook files according to URL sorted by time. The output is saved in a html file. See screenshot.

It is tremendously practical to have websites grouped by URL. I suggest this option for future development. One click save and auto group according to URL ... screenshot from 2016-12-19 18-14-40

With html files to store the alternative grouping, different grouping and sorting types could exist concurrently, like group by URL, group by (userdefined) keywords, etc. A menu (show tree) with these options beside tools; option 'update all trees' in tools ...

We probably wouldn't implement this request since the idea of ScrapBook is to order items manually by user. If you really need this, try writing a hook that re-arranges the content in the tree/custom.js script.

~~Sorting by URL would be a nice addition to the already existing sort by Title/ID/Time present in the sort dialog.~~

It is an addition of output and rather grouping than sorting. The sidebar menu is not affected.

Sorry I misread this issue. I've opened a separate one https://github.com/danny0838/firefox-scrapbook/issues/175
