Big Sur Beta problem

Description of issue

the app does not work in Big Sur

What in particular is happening?

Are you getting a blank screen like with #195 ?

The app does not open. In the dock it appears indicating that it is open but no window is shown and it consumes 99% of CPU.

Attached is the error report.

I'm sorry for the late response. I just now got time to look into this.

Some questions.

  • Was this working before, and then after upgrading to Big Sur, it no longer does?
  • Or was this a fresh installation?
  • Did a previous version work, and you upgraded the app, and now this new one doesn't?
  • Does running it from the command-line version work? /Applications/PacketSender.app/Contents/MacOS/PacketSender --version
  • What language is your computer set to? I've heard of problems happening when not using English.

  • this is a fresh installation
  • Did a previous version work, and you upgraded the app, and now this new one doesn't?
  • on Mojave it worked, but on Big Sur
  • Does running it from the command-line version work? /Applications/PacketSender.app/Contents/MacOS/PacketSender --version - yes, it works
  • What language is your computer set to? I've heard of problems happening when not using English.
  • my computer is in English

Unfortunately, no. I have had no time this month to work on this project. I am hoping to have more time in November.

Bug recreated.

This will require some digging. I have a theory of the problem. I may need to have a Big Sur-only release.

Thanks for helping me test. I added the installer to GitHub releases and updated the packetsender.com download page. Both installers will be shown until the next general release.
