comparing document revisions

Hi all! I'm using redmine_dmsf on redmine 2.2 (ubuntu 11.10): it installed with no problems and works great. Definitively a must-have on redmine.

I'm wondering if is it possible to see differences between versions for a single file. Using an external tool would be ok, too.

I see these alternatives:

  • built-in into the plugin?
  • by web browser or any other webdav client? (but I do not know if file revisions are accessible to webdav)
  • by an external tool, addressing file versions like so: file-name@REV-X and file-name@REV-Y (file-name could be a webdav-url)

Does anyone know if is this possible?

Thank you!

Andrea,

At present this is not factored into the current toolset; however will look at including this into the 1.5.0 release tree as soon as possible. At present only final versions are available via webdav, and it is on my consideration list for the 1.5.0 release to allow revision specific URI for webdav eg http://server/dmsf/webdav/project/file/1.0 where 1.0 is the version number – however that is something I’m still investigating as the UI changes require new (and deprecate others) portions of dmsf. I will update the ticket again once I’ve evaluated the ability to do this.

Best Regards, Dan Munn
