Onenote Desktop?

Any suggestions on how this might be made to work with Onenote Desktop (a.k.a OneNote 2013/2016/2019 and just “OneNote" [ref])?

Reason being is I have most of my notebooks on local drives and don't want to upload them to onedrive just to download again. This would also (theoretically) bypass the need to set up an Azure app and associated permissions.
