Issues with cropping certain animated GIF files

When you open CropTool at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:FAD_Juventud.gif and select an area to crop CropTool disregards your selection and instead makes a 1x1 pixel crop. If you press on the magic border locator CropTool makes another crop but still totally in disregard to the selection of the magic border locator. I've found similar issues on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Animated_Wikidata_logo.gif and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Logo_dhv.gif where one's selection is not what CropTool renders when previewing.
