make lossless crop a "snapping option"

"[ ] Snap to lossless boundaries" could enable a drag region which only snaps to 8x8 px boundaries when dragging crop box or moving crop boundary

It would have to be either 8x8 or 16x16 depending on the sampling rate. But yes, I think snapping is the best solution to make this intuitive. I'm closing #2 then.
