Still need to figure out what the returncode reflects and what it should actually return. Unfortunately the suppression code is giving me headaches.

FYI this is one of the last steps before I can finally start sharing the executor code.

This is almost there. Still needs a few adjustments and maybe some more tests.

And afterwards I can hopefully finally introduce the shared executor code...

Seems like this will keep dragging on as I encountered some additional shortcomings. This time with the whole program analysis. Will file a separate ticket about it and provide some (failing) tests case in a separate PR.
