Missing Icons
Write here the icons you find missing
It helps me a lot if you can write the exact name of the icon. You can find all app desktop-files inside /usr/share/applications
. Open the desired one with a text editor and find the value after Icon=

Icon Request : Org files
-
file type Org-mode (
.org
) - short description A plain text markup format that's been around for 17 years. Designed in Emacs but there are extensions for many other editors.
-
icon name
text-org
- webpage https://orgmode.org/
- original icon https://orgmode.org/img/org-mode-unicorn.png
Example implementation (papirus):
On a system with Org registered as a file type, one finds the following (which may be useful)
$ gio info -a standard::icon ~/.org/todo.org
standard::icon: text-org, text-x-generic, text-org-symbolic, text-x-generic-symbolic
$ xdg-mime query filetype ~/.org/todo.org
text/org
Other than visual nicety I'd find this particularly helpful as .org
files can be exported to a wide range of formats, and result in a large number of files being produced. Not having a distinct icon makes it hard to identify the 'source' .org
file in many cases (see below, 'scuse the papirus but I just happened to have this image lying around).

apps/Zoom.svg exists and looks nice. However doesn't show up. I guess this is because I use the Zoom installed from the Ubuntu Snapstore ?

Above icons don't show up well in Ubuntu 20.04 task bar in blue light mode
- Distro: Devuan
- Desktop: MATE
Icons for plus and minus symbols are missing such as in git-cola. I realize this is a Qt application, but the fact is that changing the GTK icon theme in MATE makes the plus and minus available or not. I'm not sure why "Skeuos Black Light" works, "Skeuos Grey Light" works, but "Skeuos Grey Dark" doesn't work.
- moved from https://github.com/daniruiz/skeuos-gtk/issues/32
Here's how it looks (There is no + or - symbol even though you can click there, after the closed :book: icon):
Here's how it should look (Skeuos Black Light is used in the screenshot, but Skeuos Grey Light is also unaffected):
After applying the theme, you have to restart git-cola to see results.
