Not sure what to say. How is this supposed to work? I'm on version 2.0.0b4 Yes, I restarted steam (many times).
Actually, the prerelease branch is the requirement, I believe. My TF2C was broken for a while after I'd played it for a long time, and it turns out that I had to install the prerelease branch to get it to work properly.
