Isn't the problem that the response contains a header: `Content-Type: application/x-javascript; charset=utf-8`, while it is not utf-8? I have thought about it before, but decided against implementing this, since events are an advanced concept in HA, not really meant for the end user. It is also tricky...

This is a duplicate of #155 but I'll keep it open for a while to see if others support your request.

I think this is the only issue blocking an upgrade to python 3.14? (because there are no wheels built for the older lxml versions)
