I just noticed that Windows Terminal updated to 1.17 from last week, and now it is much harder to trigger the issue.
I can confirm that after fg press ↑ quickly may easier to trigger
Not avoid. Just harder to trigger.
Could it still print the top directory as it completes? Unless what you are saying implies that all the directories will complete roughly at the same time?
What is the version? Mine is 5.21.0-1+b2 and does not give the error

what is the output from the `tty` command and the value for `TERM`?
If you execute `\gdu` is it still the same?
I'm experiencing the same problem with `progress2`. The percentage climbs up to 99% and from when it starts to copy files it stays there. The time and duration gets overwritten....
@WayneD Thanks for looking into this. What I like about `progress2` is that I can see rsync is busy and that the length of the output is not growing too...
