Chromecast will not advance to next song

I have made no changes to DSUB or subsonic but a new 'bug;' now exists. Peehaps it is an interaction to new chrome S/W??? When I play music on DSub and Chromecast it playback stops usually just before the end of the current song and will not continue until I press the advance button. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any ideas how to fix it? Any Time I play a song in in DSub that is Chromecast I get this in the shubsonic log at the start of play:

There is no similar error when not Chromecasting

I have also experienced this. It's been hard to pin down whether DSub is actually to blame because there is a very similar issue with Airsonic https://github.com/airsonic/airsonic/issues/705 and I've experienced similar problems with Ampache. These issues happen all the time though - not specific to casting.

I have since written my own Subsonic backend and while it does not suffer from the issues above, the cast-specific one described here continues to occur. Turning on the "Cache While Casting" option may help (it happens so sporadically, it's hard for me to know when changes I make are having an effect). Have you tried that option @audiosteve ?

Continuing to monitor this bug - "cache while casting" doesn't actually solve it. No combination of cast settings make this (incredibly annoying) problem go away. It happens on both my Nvidia Shield and my girlfriend's Chromecast, on separate networks so I think I can rule out it being a local network problem. It really seems like a bug in dsub.

I have this issue with Kodi and GmediaRender on Linux Debian Testing as well.

It repeats the same song over and over again with Kodi (no, song repeat is not on). It does not move to the next song nor repeats the same song with Gmediarender.

I am using Dsub 5.4.4 on LineageOS 14.1
