I'm using a chromecast, and it shows "DSub" on the screen, then loads all the tags, then goes black again. and dsub says "failed to load". I'm using supysonic

OK, I got it sort of working. In the DSub Settings, under Casting I was able to get it to work by enabling the Use device proxy option. I also had to make sure my mobile device was connected to the same wireless AP (I have 3) as the Chromecast. This was visible under the Home app Device settings for my Chromecast. I wish I could cast without having to keep my mobile within WiFi range of the Chromecast, but it's a start. Is there a DSub manual somewhere that gives details on this kind of stuff?

Chromecast rejects any self-signed certificates. That is not something I can work around directly. The work around is enabling the proxy. The proxy sets up a web server directly on your device, which is probably why it has to be on the same AP. The Chromecast probably can't connect to an internal IP on another AP. I haven't actually tried that before, but I seriously doubt there is anything I can do about that at the moment.

The real solution is to have a valid certificate, but that is a pain (at the very least you have to have your own domain setup) even with something like Lets Encrypt.

This has happened to me too. It seems intermittent. Sometimes I can turn things on and off in the "casting" section of settings, such as "use proxy" and it will stream to Chromecast for a bit, then other times, no matter what I do, Chromecast will not work. It's such a shame, as dsub is the only mobile app I know of that will stream from *sonic to Chromecast. I'm not running my Airsonic instance with SSL on my local network, so it's not that.

since this is still open i didn't want to create another ticket for the same problem. now when i go to cast it connects then the slider never advances when you click play. disconnect chromecast and it plays fine.
