On both my HP-UX Itanium 64bit boxes, this test took over 12 hours before I killed it Other than trying to find out why, this test could do with a timer. Set an alarm for 5 or 10 minutes and kill it. Other than that, all tests passed.

This is very concerning. Unfortunately the GCC compiler farm no longer has HP/UX or Itanium machines. I ran on MIPS, ARM, and AIX-Power8 and didn't see it.

It is possible this is due to spilling over to Pure Perl, which is really slow (but shouldn't be that bad). I modified the test so it should run faster, but that doesn't really understand the problem.

I am not thrilled with a timer, but it sounds like something that should be done.
