Unreliable performance with dimmers

I have around 15 Zooz dimmers connected to a hubitat C-7 hub. I am able to get them into homebridge and appear in homekit using MakerAPI, however setting the brightness level is unreliable. Sometimes it responds instantly, sometimes it doesn't respond at all until I repeat the command, and other times it will respond 5-10 seconds later. I have searched exhaustively and seem to be the only one with this issue. Control works fine directly from hubitat instantaneously. Any ideas? I get similar behavior with the Tonesto plugin as well
