Problem with Caption Setup?

Hello,

is there a way to change the label and caption font size and spacing of figures? It seems to me that all options i.e. \captionsetup{font={small,singlespacing}} have no effect at all...

Are there any suggestions to solve this problem?

Sorry for the delay. The \captionsetup command works, however, the setspace package is not includes with apa7 and thus the singlespacing command in the captions package has no effect (see caption package manual)

The following would work:

\captionsetup[figure]{textfont={it,small}} 
\captionsetup[table]{textfont={it,small}} 

I could explore in the future changing to use the setspce package.
