more parameters to customize items

I'd like to see more parameters to customize layout. Examples:

  1. how many lines the menu should have
  2. how many pixel wide and high the buttons should be
  3. how many columns show be created
  4. each group should be listed in one column

I could try to help reading the code, suggesting changes and even compiling + TESTING!! I'm here to help!
