Support for modifier keys

Open Bragolgirith opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

I've been trying out PowerAccent for the last couple of days and while I want to love it, the usability seems a bit off. I think the reason is that it works counterintuitive to how standard modifier keys work.

With any OS if I want a modified (e.g. capital) o, I can just do:

  • Shift (hold) +o.

But with PowerAccent if I want a modified (e.g. accented) o, I need to both do it the opposite way (press the letter first and then the modifier), as well as have a short pause between the key presses:

  • o (hold-pause) + Space.

Is it feasible to add support for a "modifier" key that when pressed together with a letter will immediately open the accent menu instead?

I feel this would be a major usability improvement.

Hello. yes it is not the first time this has been asked. It is not somthing we can quickly implemented because of the way the tool has been made. But we are working about it, to improve the tool and make able more options like this one. Thanks for your patience.
