Trouble making ESP work with xBee

Hi all I'm trying to get ESP to recognize sensor data transmitted via a wireless xBee connection. xBee works fine feeding accelerometer data to other applications, but for some reason ESP is not seeing the feed. Note my setup works fine via a hardwired USB COM port, but not xBee. Has anyone tried this, or had a similar issue? Thanks . . .
