Switch from clover to OC
Hello, today i tried to switch from Clover to OC with no success. In the past I had succeeded without problems. I had deleted the BOOT and CLOVER folders from EFI and replaced them with the BOOT and OC folders.
Performing the same operation with the latest EFI release, the computer freezes at the startup screen with the Mi logo.
Can anyone help me? Thanks
Add -v to your bootarg and show the log? Also whats your ssd model?
@Menchen SSD Model is the same of the last time i switched between the two systems, Crucial MX500 SSD4 I also have dual boot with Windows folder inside EFI, can this be a problem?
@Menchen Is it possible to install MacOs 12 Monterey on Clover? I thought about switching to OC because I need to test the new Apple OS but if I can install it on Clover it's better. Thanks
What about if you put opencore into usb EFI? Also dif you remove NVRAM? Clover is very deprecated at this point.
@Menchen i will try to put opencore on usb EFI and reset NVRAM. Can you confirm that to switch from Clover to OC it should be enough to replace the two folders in EFI? Thanks.
Resetting NVRAM and replacing those two folders should be enough. By replacing I mean deleting first (make a backup first).
Unfortunately I can't even reach the OC boot screen to reset the NVRAM, how can I reset it any other way?
Press F12 while powering up the laptop, you should select your ssd, and if everything fail create an efi usb with opencore.(Be careful that your usb EFI have the special partition flag to make it bootable)
for nvram reset you need recovery mode or custom efi tool..
thanks, i can't understand why this time the clover to OC change doesn't work ...
The problem seems like you’re not booting opencore, try selecting the ssd in bios or using usb to be sure.
@Menchen entering the UEFI bios and looking at the boot order I correctly see the OC disk as the first entry but starting the computer it remains fixed on the Xiaomi logo.
@matvada Does booting from usd work? Use F12 to make sure that you're using the correct drive.
I'm in the same situation and I can't boot oc from a USB, it remains fixed on Xiaomi logo. Did you solve this problem @matvada? Could you help me @Menchen?
@pepocrespo I had this problem as well. I did as suggested from the release comment by changing the SecureBootModel
key in config.plist from Default to Disabled and it worked for me after that.
@segfault32 Thank you so much, it worked for me too.
