no such file or directory in /tmp/doc-tools/my-file/.../page-1.png

i thought i would try this out just to see how it's going.

first, i followed the mupdf instructions, but in addition to what is stated in the readme i also had to install the mupdf-tools package, to have the mutool binary (i'm on debian).

i changed the file paths in doc-backend-mupdf.pdf to match where i downloaded doc-tools-mupdf and doc-tools-poppler, and evaluated the buffer.

then when i open a pdf file i get this error: svg--image-data: Opening input file: No such file or directory, /tmp/doc-tools/my-pdf-file/pages/page-1.png

the directories are created in /tmp but there's no files in there.

maybe i'm missing something or maybe it's a known issue, i'm unsure.

also i don't mind trying things out if its helpful, when i have time.
