Sorry, I'm on holydays but I'll be back in two or three days, until then I won't have internet access so you'll have either to fix it yourself or wait a little bit ;)

Back to the issue, I don't really understand the problem with hl-line-mode. I've tested it a bit (I don't use it usually) and so far I'ven't found anything weird.

Could you describe it a bit more (what do you see and what do you expect) or even provide a screenshot ?
