Preferences Dialog

The Preferences Dialog needs a ton of work. It is barely functional currently and only very few of the settings are used. This began as a duplicate of Notepad++'s preference dialog, however Notepad++'s dialog is very GUI intensive, inconsistent, and hard to find what you need, etc. I think this is one area Notepad Next can do much better.

I'd like to share some thoughts and questions bout the Preference Dialog.

Would you like to be the preferences hard coded and be editable only from GUI or have a default json file that we can duplicate (to have user-specific settings) and made changes to it? Similarly to Atom or Sublime Text.

On GUI, it would be a big help if we could search in the preferences. Have you thought about this?

I haven't thought much about this specifically, but I think this is definitely worth discussing more at a later point. I think the first goal will be to get a good preference dialog structure that can be expandable. Notepad++'s preference dialog leaves alot to be desired.

Absolutely! I would love to be able to search and filter settings. Other applications such as Visual Studio or DBeaver have tons of options, but they structure it in a way that the user can still easily find what they need.

Closing as the preference dialog is one of those things that will evolve over time and there's no 'one' fix for this. If anyone has specific suggestions feel free to discuss.
