printer fails to print

By connection via USB is secure, but the Ultimaker2 doesn't pre-heat and starts moving back and forth as if it's printing (no extrusion, unheated head, deck doesn't respond).

Sounds like the Ultimaker 2 thinks it is an Ultimaker Original, and therefore expects to get g-code sent to it to direct how hot the nozzle and heated bed must be.

Printing with USB for the UM2 is not officially supported. If you do want to use this, you have to prepare the GCode as if it is an Ultimaker Original+
