find TWO chars?

Open marttt opened this issue 12 years ago • 2 comments

Hi, There is the vim-seek plugin which maps s to find two chars in a line instead of one.

Just a thought: how annoying would it be to add this to Fanfingtastic as well, maybe as an user option? Would be super useful for navigating in files with long paragraphs of text (not code).

An excellent plugin in any case, thanks very much for your work! Cheers, Mart

Nice idea Mart. I was curious about vim-seek so I went and gave it multi-line support. The implementation is pretty fugly but it seems to be working ok.

Now if we could just get Vim to jump to the character I am looking at... :)

vim-seek caused me all kinds of confusion when my fingers tried to use s normally, so I mapped it to l ("look"). I realised I never use l, always opting for <Space> instead. Similarly <Backspace> frees up h for me, so I have one key free for the future...

This is a really pleasant surprise, Joey! Started using it right away. Thank you very much! Better yet -- I suggest making Vim jump to the character you're looking at next! :)

Cheers!
