Yes, REST API can be added but it depends on which functionality you are after: sales register, inventory, customer list, reporting, etc.. And of course it needs implementation.

Agreed. It would be better to have multiple specialised Registers and a config param to select which one you want. Similar to Themes and Receipts. Ideally we should tidy up...
