pool: on start up pool uses a lot of memory

Pool: on start up pool uses a lot of memory. It has been observed that while pool is checking repository the memory usage is high (we also have complaints at the workshop). Once inventory has completed the memory consumption goes down. Can this be addressed by using some sort of circular buffer
