Retrieving New DMs and Bell Activation

Hello,

As far as I understand, it is only possible to retrieve the DM history if a user ID is provided. But what if I don't have a user ID? For example, if someone who I haven't had a conversation with before messages me, without logging into the account via browser and checking the messages manually, I can't know if an unknown user has messaged me. Is there any way to get the IDs/usernames or DM messages of unknown users who message me?

Furthermore, sometimes I like to activate the notification bell when following a user. Is there any way to do this with Twikit?
