Move translations to Weblate service

Open d4nj1 opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

Translating, reviewing and maintaining of languages is not trivial for this project and automation has not yet happened as suggested in #79. Therefore the translation process should use a more modern approach like Weblate to maintain translations.

DoD:

  • Create initial language support in Weblate
  • Add existing translations
  • Consume Weblate translations in TLPUI
  • Add automation for new languages and updating existing ones

Sorry for spamming but I would like to ask what the proper way to submit translations is at the moment (before the migration is completed)?

I found that Chinese translation has been out-of-date and contained some typos, punctuation misuse, untranslated strings and over-simplified descriptions. I am willing to help improve it :)

Hi @w568w , I am currently testing and adding translations to Weblate. I hope to finish until early next year the latest. Will let you know once done so that you could adjust the Chinese translations. That would be really great.

Project has been added to Weblate but still has to be approved as a free hosting project. It will stay closed for changes until approval is finally done. You can find it here: https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/tlpui/
