Single Left-Click Behavior To Switching Between Actual Size and Fit-to-Window, but also bring user to zoom in the cursor position

Open AR-Project opened this issue 6 years ago • 8 comments

Basically, my request is that ImageGlass would make single left-click behaviour to switch the zoom level between actual size (100%) and fit to window. But I understand since that same behavior is already accessible using double left click, and not everyone would like these feature.

But as photographer / layout-designer, I always switching between 100% zoom for detail, and fit to windows for overall looks. And I need it fast. It takes a significant amount of time between single click and double-click if I work with a lot of images (lots for me is 150 and more at one session). And also, from the lastest version of image glass, I don't see any behavior for left single-click at the moment, unassigned in other way.

So the solution that I liked is assign single left-click for switching between 100% zoom (Actual size) and fit in window zoom.

But, if this request is making most of the users feels annoyed, I suggest giving this options back to user. Maybe users would assign it to color picker, move to next image, etc.

p.s. Its already implemented on ACDsee ;p

Thanks for your respond @d2phap . ImageGlass is the most closest to my dream image viewer app as designer. Can't thank you enough.

Oh, and also, still on the same page of this request, It will be nice if I single click on image, would zoom me in into that position that I click.

Like, lets say I click on top left of my image, would be nice if zoom behavior would bring me into that cursor position or in this example, top left part of my image.

This behavior also could be applicable in double click to zoom actual size. Since double click, (or soon, my request, single click) would zoom actual size. But I zoomed into the dead center of my image, and that is not the behavior i expected.

Sorry for bothering you, once again @d2phap

I would also like an option for "left click to zoom", perhaps with a configurable zoom %.

I second that request. It would be great if the single/double click behavior can be configured for the 100% zoon. However, an even more important improvement I think would be to have double click to zoom where the mouse cursor is on the image, similar to the way the wheel zoom does it. In addition, zooming out I think should be limited to the "Auto zoom" %. Currently the "Auto zoom" setting always displays the whole image.

I can't agree more. Over the years I've tried and have found myself completely disappointed by almost all other popular image viewing applications. Apparently the creators of these applications clearly do not understand the simple concept of "image viewer" and the uttermost importance of not destroying images simply by a single click on the interface. The other concept that they obviously don't have a grasp on is the need to simplify the viewing aspect. ImageGlass does the simple thing of displaying images so well that all those other applications I've tried should be put in a different category altogether, called difficult to use image shredders.

I am really happy to be able customize the zoom levels in the latest version, however it would be great if the first value for the zoom % can be set to the "Auto zoom" %, so that zooming could be limited to start at the initial zoom % and view. In addition, rather than having absolute % zoom values I wish it would be possible to have the zoom levels % relative to the "Auto zoom" %.

v9.0 beta 2 allows you to customize the mouse actions. See more details and example here: https://github.com/d2phap/ImageGlass/issues/991#issuecomment-1238130837
