Funding for a Chrome v116 release for Windows [$1000 of $2,000]

Open cztomczak opened this issue 6 years ago • 10 comments

This funding is for those interested in sponsoring a PHP Desktop Chrome v116 release for Windows. The money will be used to update phpdesktop to the latest Chrome version, implement new features, make a stable release and to provide long term support for it.

This project is developed and supported since year 2012 and has established trust among its users. We have already succeeded in making a similar funding for a Linux release via Issue #221 and made a successful Linux v72 release.

Funding is carried out using Bountysource and Paypal platforms. Multiple people can post bounties and donations using both platforms and make up for the goal.

The total funds raised so far are showed in the title of this issue.

Donate

You can make a Paypal donation using the button below.

Donate

By default all donations without any specific comment will be added towards funding the Chrome release for Windows.

To contribute via Bountysource go to this page: https://www.bountysource.com/issues/55998279

Hi, any roadmap on this upgrade

vjanagaran avatar Nov 09 '18 11:11 vjanagaran

@vjanagaran The cost for the upgrade is $2,000 and there are no sponsors so far. I have updated the issue to upgrade it to Chrome v70.

@cztomczak Maybe need some time. Does bounty source cost administration fee for funding?

Do You have any patreon account maybe? I can support monthly but not too much, for now I still backing up some of open source project monthly, maybe only can help you buy a cup or two cup coffe for you. Are you interested?

@benyaminl There is also a Paypal button on the project's homepage if you would like to support the project using a different payment method.

Bountysource takes 10% fee for money withdrawal + another 3% hidden fee exchange rate by Paypal.

I have updated the issue explaining that you can make up for the goal using both Bountysource and Paypal platforms.

I hope you'll keep supporting this awesome project. because it's gonna change how PHP ecosystem work. actually, it's similar to electron js ( framework for node js to build desktop application using node js). it's a popular and useful, same as your project . do you have a patreon page where I can help?

@Flokyofficial Currently you can support the project only through Paypal and Bountysource.

@conan1154 This issue is about funding which is more than just updating Chromium engine. It's about making a stable release and providing support for it long term. I also plan to implement new features. Unfortunately I don't have time to do it for free. You are free to fork the project, but please continue these discussions elsewhere. Thank you.

Is there any date planned for production to begin on the new Chrome v75 version, or just as soon as you hit $2,000?

mathewberry avatar Aug 20 '19 07:08 mathewberry

@mathewberry Thank you for the donation. After the goal is hit the release should be ready within a month. An early release will appear sooner.
