why name illegal file name

i download all zip file after upload my bim file on the website:https://extract.autodesk.io/. in the folder:Resource____3D 155844\3\mats,there are three photo files, their name are one:woods & plastics.finish carpentry.wood.red birch.png two:woods & plastics.finish carpentry.wood.teak.png three:woods & plastics.finish carpentry.wood.white oak.png why their name have the illegal character “&” and blank space.it will rasie an error in a web site application. i can't show them on my ipad.
