Feature request: Add a FIAT<->XMR pair
Is there an existing issue for this?
- [X] I have searched the existing issues
Current Behavior
Lets say i am Monero user and i want to buy 1000 EUR worth of XMR:
The app won't let me buy XMR directly i have to go BTC->XMR to buy 1000 EUR worth of BTC the fee is 95 EUR and additionally to that i have to pay 5-100 EUR fee for XMRBTC swap depending on how the BTC scam fee feels about f*cking over people today to in the worst case scenario end up with 805 EUR worth of XMR and additionally to that it won't work over Tor so either way is not usable.
Expected Behavior
Direct exchange from FIAT<->XMR and 5 EUR fee max and even then i wlll complain about it not being up to 3 EUR.
Reproduce Steps
self-evident
Environment
- Operating system and version: Android 14
- Device platform and version: LineageOS
- Real device or emulator/simulator: Vendor-patched xiaomi-ursa into xiaomi-equuelus
Logs
No response
Further Information
Other crypto wallets e.g. Cake Wallet lets me use Tor to directly exchange FIAT<->XMR and has exchange fee of 4.26 EUR including contactless payments via pre-paid virtual credit cards which is kinda the standard for Monero.
The low fee is achieved by having multiple providers that the app gets a quote from to then pick the one that gives the best deal which also makes the exchanges honest and competetive.
Haveno implementation to get rid of the need to have pre-paid virtual credit cards to do contactless FIAT payments would also be cool.
This is not a Stack Wallet issue.

This is not a Stack Wallet issue. -- @sneurlax (https://github.com/cypherstack/stack_wallet/issues/1065#issuecomment-2568199010)
Seems relevant to me considering that Stack:
- Explicitly doesn't allow FIAT exchanges over Tor
- Seem to only provide SimpleX exchange, if it provided more monero-friendly options like:
- Trocador -- Mostly used to find the most economical not standalone
- haveno
- DFX.swiss
- Guardarian
Then this wouldn't have been such a painful experience to use for FIAT exchange on Monero as again it's kinda standard in other monero wallets.
This isn’t a bug.

I would categorize it as a bug considering it makes the built-in exchange unusable, but w/e is this actionable in stack? Cuz this and inability to use custom remote node (https://github.com/cypherstack/stack_wallet/issues/981) is kinda a deal breaker for me and most monero users afaik.. and it would be great to have more alternative wallets..
This is not actionable in Stack, is my point
We can add more exchanges or we can ask the exchanges we have to add more pairs, basically
Otherwise there isn't anything we can do because we don't actually manage the swaps service, that's all I mean.
We can add more exchanges -- @sneurlax (https://github.com/cypherstack/stack_wallet/issues/1065#issuecomment-2638277815)
That's what i was hoping would be actionable in stack tbh. just like add more options?

Would also be great, but from my experience the BTC people aren't good faith with XMR.
