Add support for Templates

For example, a 'Deep Gnome (Svirfneblin)' Template might add the following traits/actions:

  • Stone Camouflage. The gnome has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in rocky terrain.
  • Gnome Cunning. The gnome has advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic.
  • Innate Spellcasting. The gnome's innate spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 11). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components: At will: nondetection (self only) 1/day each: blindness/deafness, blur, disguise self

So I can take a Veteran and quickly add Svirfneblin to it to create a Svirfneblin Veteran or Priest or whatever.

Basically just a collection of Traits & Actions for starters I think. Maybe Vision and Languages also?

Could also be used for collections of Actions like a "Cleric Level 1 spells" Template might have an action like:

Cure Wounds 1st level evocation Casting Time: 1 action Range: Touch Components: V, S Duration: Instantaneous

A creature you touch regains a number of hit points equal to 1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier. > This spell has no effect on undead or constructs. At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a > spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the healing increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.

And all those get added... then I can remove/edit/adjust/tweak. Could have SRD spells by level "out of the box" and the ability to add user-loaded collections of course :)

This would be even more powerful if rolls could reference modifiers & other features eventually so the rolls work without hardcoding the roll details.

But at least DM would have the basic spell details handy in the interim.

I like this idea a lot. Advanced statblock management features like this might be good candidates for patron rewards.

I'll probably implement spell lookups in a more straightforward way so that it integrates correctly with stat blocks that already have spells.

I'm investigating to see if I can manage to pitch in at all, not a lot of free time but seriously love this tool.

The "timer" note was a great addition.

I have a few more wish-list items -- want me to create Issues?

  • Notes could have a 'player visible?' flag so my note that NPC Asha might attack NPC Ilvara isn't player visible :) Right now I don't give players the URL
  • Editable Notes?
  • Visible indication of NPC vs Player
  • A checkbox would be handy in Notes for flagging off events without deleting them.
  • Combatant column should probably resize to leave more room for Notes, screenshot: https://twitter.com/ColdDimSum/status/847904662506352640
  • Have some options to display a few additional bits of info on the main page (passive perception & move speed are the two that come to mind as useful in the table view).
