Player view and auto-reroll initiative, preview next round initative
When the player's view is set to 'Active combatant at top of initiative list', combined with 'Automatically reroll initiative at the end of each round'; when the last combatant(s) in the initiative order have their turn, the next combatants in the list show the combatant with the highest initiative from the current initiative order, instead of the next round's initiative order.
As a solution the bottom of the list should not be filled by the 'invalid'/old initiative order and remain empty, or the next round's initiative is already calculated for the combatants that have already had a turn, and are shown in that new order.
As an example, combatants A, B, C, and D; with first round initiative of 19, 17, 12, 5 respectively, and 14, 3, 15, 13, respectively for the second round. Say it's D's turn on the first round the player view would show:
5 D 19 A 17 B 12 C,
and the new initiative is (calculated and set) after D's turn. I would like to see that the next round's initiative is already known resulting in:
5 D 15 C 14 A 3 B.
Interesting would be whether or not to show D's next round initiative as well, e.g.:
5 D 15 C 14 A 12 D 3 B.
Interesting find.
Not sure about pre-rolling initiatives for the next round. Since initiative isn't actually rerolled until the end of the round, I think that doing the rolls in advance would be a weird behavior, and likely prone to bugs.
A more targeted fix might be to display an End of Round indicator of some kind after the last combatant when Active combatant at top of initiative list is on. Technically, a viewer today can intuit this by looking at the initiative values in the player view, but a dedicated row for End of Round might be nice.
Interesting find.
Thanks :)

I agree, it would a complicated solution needing the server to keep track of two initiative values. I do think it's a nicer/better solution. It would also allow an expansion of remembering the previous round's initiative, for when you accidentally hit next turn -> previous turn at the end of a round.

Something like a coloured band might work nicely indeed, something visually striking. Good idea in general, even when not auto-rolling initiative.
