Image retrieval on HTTP broken?

Pages that work in browsers or Hermit won't show images loaded from a http-only-webserver (LAN).

http://(local ip):(non default port)/image.jpg

Simply blank. Even when using the image location as a website itself. "ALLOW HTTP" switched on, of course (All other possible options too, different user-agents too, desktop-mode too)

Any idea?
