Port knocking through proxy

I just tried to use port knocking (Connection -> Sequence) through proxy server (Connection -> Proxy -> Socks 5, hostname, port, DNS name lookup as well) but it seems the port knocking sequence is not sent through proxy. Do i need to set something else as well?
