KiTTY freezes after starting tmux session

Open crondrift opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

Starting a tmux session (I'm using defaults, no fancy config) after connecting to a host results in a blinking cursor in the top-left corner. After a few seconds seconds KiTTY freezes. I've checked almost everything (including resetting the defaults for KiTTY), connecting to different servers/distros. Connecting with the original PuTTY and starting a tmux session just works fine.

Hi @crondrift ,

Some time ago, I've some troubles with tmux and KiTTY. So I suggest to provide a reproducible guide. For example, select a recent version of the server you're connecting. Then list the server version, the tmux version and use the last PuTTY and KiTTY versions. Then, using only the default parameters, connect with PuTTY and KiTTY and list the commands you use to start the tmux session and reproduce the error.

I hope with all this information it will be sufficient to @cyd01 to reproduce the error. Then it will can fix it. Thank you for reporting the error. Regards.

Hi lars18th,

thanx for the info. You're right - I forgot to mention the version. I've tested only with the latest tmux version (v3.2) - with v3.1c it works fine with KiTTY (starting tmux with just "tmux" and nothing else). So I think there is an actual problem with tmux v3.2 and the latest version of KiTTY. But I don't know who the culprit is :)

P.S.: Serverdistro doesn't seem to matter - I've tested it on latest Ubuntu, Arch, Alpine Linux.
