I'm not sure, the log seems to claim that NAPS2 is using 11GB of memory, but I can't get it past 500MB-1GB (`top -o %MEM`) myself running a similar test....

Did you try running `taskset –c 0-1 naps2`?

Does using the command-line `scanimage` work for scanning?

If you have another Linux distro (or VM etc) available, it might be worth trying to see if it's actually specific to NixOS or just the specific scanner.

Nice. Does the real scanner work with Default as the twain impl? The "Unsupported pixel type" error is because it's trying to scan 48-bit color but NAPS2 only supports 24-bit...

SANEWinDS version 1.2 has [been published](https://sourceforge.net/projects/sanewinds/files/) with those fixes and more, it seems to be working well now.

Does it work if you try and use Windows Fax and Scan? In your profile settings, under Advanced->WIA Version, you can try selecting "1.0".
