Advanced Setting for Dark Text & Light Theme not working

Open zealstallion opened this issue 6 months ago • 4 comments

While I use the light wallpaper for the Home/Day & Lock/Day, they are too bright to be used with light text, so I tried using this setting but it doesn't work in my Samsung A35 OneUI7 Android 15. However, everything with each setting when kept same in my Samsung Tab S7+ on OneUI5 Android 13 they do work exactly how they should work.

Kindly snotice the screenshots attached, you can see the text colors as white in the phone ss while they are black in tablet ss with all the same settings in the app.

If it's the settings I'm doing wrong then please do suggest for the same. What I need is just that the white text becomes dark while I have light theme on, everything else works awesome.

Rest everything with your great app works so damn good!, I really love how it transitions the themes.. it is really so smooth!!

The settings seem to be correct.

When you open the app, you can scroll down, there is a "Debug information" section, you can check that it actually says "Dark text supported: yes". Those values are the ones that the OS/launcher sees, so if it says yes there then the settings are correct.

You could try to set a lighter blue or even white color to see if that helps, see my screenshot in another issue: https://github.com/cvzi/darkmodewallpaper/issues/242#issuecomment-2841663456

Another thing you could try is restarting the phone to see if that changes the text color.

There seems to be a problem on Android 15, I guess this is probably the same problem as in the issue #242, but at the moment I have no idea what is causing the problem.

@cvzi The dark text support was showing "yes".

I tried different colors but still the problem persisted.

Restarting the phone didnt help, neither did reinstalling the app.

But, I figured one wierd behaviour that in my tablet, the datk text wasn't applying initially.. so I changed 2 settings, 1st was to unlock the home screen (which I dont think would be the culprit) and 2nd was to show the app labels on home screen & app drawer which I always keep hidden using GoodLock. The moment I switched it to showing the labels DarkModeLiveWallpaper applied the dark text.

But, the same workaround didnt work for phone.

https://github.com/cvzi/darkmodewallpaper/issues/233 much the same issue I think.

The color of font dimmed to dark, which is as expected as what the settings suggests, when go into drawer or "recent app" slide ui.

It just doesn't do well under lock screen nor home screen.
